Big Bucks has won the World Hurdle once again under an incredible ride from Ruby Walsh.

This time was no walk in the park as they turned for home with Walsh committing his mount early in the straight.

Oscar Whiskey and Thousand Stars were travelling like a class two miler should and Voler La Vedette soon got on the coatails and emerged as an incredibly tough challenge.

However Big bucks drifted to the middle of the track but jumped the last brilliantly and battled and grafted all the way to the line to win by a length and three quarters in an absolutely pulsating race.

Now unquestionably the greatest stayer we have ever seen and all have come and all have been conquered. I suppose owner Andy Stewart is probably wondering how on earth this one was never a Gold Cup winner but I suppose thank goodness for small mercies.

All i can say is awesome and all the plaudits are fully deserved. Walsh tries again tomorrow with Kauto Star but it may be one Gold Cup too far…….

Grab a free bet on The Gold Cup

Hi Guys,

Its OFFICIALY HERE!!! Today marks the kick off of the 2012 Cheltenham Festival and today I have a cool video for you showing how to back and lay on Betfair.

I hope you enjoyed that. Of course Betfair is not for everybody as some punters find it a little complicated and their are many offers at the moment for free bets from the book makers.

You do need to be careful when selecting an offer as although they may look tempting their can be some very tricky terms and conditions attached.

If you want to get a free bet at Cheltenham then i would advise using Will Hill.

Its very simple and you simply Bet 25 Get 25

Good luck in your punting this week and I’ll be back later today with updates

Cheers

I was reading the Clerks Choice for the Champion Hurdle in his monthly newsletter called the “Staying Article” and the first thing he said is that their is no way that Peddlers Cross will Overturn last years running with Hurricane Fly….not in a Thousand Stars, oops i meant a thousand years.

I heard Oscars Well, but Zaidpour and Zarkandar are So Young. We all love Brampour here at Cheltenham after his win early in the season but he’ll need some Starluck and Binoculars to get anywhere near some of these.

Celestial Halo keeps pulling out the performances and he could be there on the Final Approach. Grandouet seems classy but Mikael Dhaugenet cant win with Ruby not on board and if they run, then Kalann and Olofi will need more than their share of luck to feature.

As always all the top jocks will be their at the end and for me its gonna be a real celebration whoever goes past the post in front……ROCK ON RUBY!!!

Let HIlls take the strain with a FREE CHAMPION HURDLE BET on this years CHAMPION HURDLE

The Cheltenham Gold Cup – A Bedtime Story……..

Ok lads….. watches Synchronised? It was a pilgrimage they had promised themselves for a long while. First a Grand Crus aboard the yacht of Captain Chris which included some fun and games at The Midnight Club. But now they were close as the boat gradually came into view of Burton Port where the Tidal Bay’s waves lapped against the China Rock.

As soon as the boat docked they were off to catch a bus to the track, they had no Time For Rupert who was trailing behind as the other lads Little Josh, Diamond Harry and the big Fella……they called Him The Giant Bolster (was a powerful brute) set off as quickly as they could.

The bus went past the castle of Mon Mome before they entered the village of Quel Esprit and onwards to their pilgrimage, a place they had been longing to go to all their lives.

They had been travelling some time and needed to replenish and found a nice little pub called The Minack……three pints each, a Sheperds Pie to boot and a barrel of laughs with the local comedian……a guy named Pocqelin, they were off again now with racing post in hand.

Back on the bus the light was now just starting to come through but they could still feel the Midnight Chase and in the sky the infamous Kauto Star was burning just that little less brightly than the night before.

Time was now racing and the lads were so engrossed in their racing post study that they did not realise the driver taking a wrong turn whilst on the radio the the sounds of “Mamma Used to Say” an old 80′s hit played out……sung by a guy called Junior.

Suddenly the bus screeched to a halt. Crikey that was Wierd Al said one of the lads to the Driver.

Sorry lads, its a Long Run and just a bit tired. Dont worry I know an Apt Approach to the track and with Magnanimity the lads were quite happy to let the driver do his job.

They arrived safe and sound at their destination only to find from the gatekeeper at the racetrack that two of the intended runners Medermit and Knockara Beau were non runners. Oh well there goes our Trifecta then.

Thanks for your help mate….sorry didnt catch your name.

Carruthers my boy, Have a great day.

What a Friend the lads said as they disembarked the bus and headed into the pilgrimage that is Prestbury Park

Who do you think will win??? Leave a comment and dont forget to grab a FREE 25 GBP Bet on this years Gold Cup

Unbeaten in all starts so far this one looks an absolute star and it looks to be the banker of the meeting for jockey and trainer Philip Hobbs.

Bookies reaction was to keep the horse unchanged but at 5/1 with Ladbrokes this one looks a nailed on EW bet with the downside very minimal.

steam·er·bot

{steem-a-bot}

noun

1.
a secret software, spies on betfair and conjurs magical betting profits, as in a robot who works for you with one click of a button and spits out easy cash to your betfair account. A technological breakthrough

2.
betting software for newbies and professionals.

Ok, what really is Steamerbot and can it really do what it says on the tin. Steamerbot has been developed by a leading UK software company that specialise in betting software. The invention comes from a punter who had manually tried out these strategies not knowing that he could have them automated.

Apparently he found a betting forum where he put his idea up to be shot down, and this was the start of what is now taking betfair newbies and professionals alike by storm, and the great thing about Steamerbot is that it gets cheaper the more you use it…….yes crazy.

You can get this groundbreaking software for less than 17 GBP per month in your first year and then from then on its only 5 GBP per month or about 17p per day………MADNESS

I dont know who put the pricing together but they must be one banana short of a bunch.

As a leading website The Cheltenham Festival Blog

The Cheltenham Festival Blog has been given a review copy and I am going to be testing this out through the lead up to Cheltenham and during festival week.

The concept allows you to place bets on horses that contract in price prior to the off (A Steamer) of increase in price (A Drifter) where you have the ability to either back and/or lay.

One of the smartest features though is a pre post “clean up” mode which if set allows you to “green up” and take a profit.

Check it out

With Hurricane Fly (doing battle above with Peddlers Cross in 2011) coming out and trouncing the opposition first time it looks highly likely this one will follow up last years impressive victory. It will be interesting to see how Zarkander goes at Newbury this Friday but surely even at this stage it cannot be good enough to trouble the fav.

I am surprised that A Thousand Stars is still entered and thought that may well have gone for the Arkle but with Grandouet running well all season this one looks the most likely to capitalise if the fav does not run to its best.

I’ll be looking out for a double figure each way selection nearer to the race and will post it up once i have done my analysis.

This years renewal od the Cheltenham Gold Cup will be acracker with Long Run trying to hold onto his crown after being well put in its place by the resurgent and young at heart “King” Kauto Star. You can also throw into the mix the exciting novice Grand Crus and also that tip top improving handicapper Midnight Chase.

We are still a month away but Long Run is the bookies fav at 9/4 and with the extra trip and stiffer track sure to suit then it is likely that this one will go on and win come gold cup Friday.

Cheers

Richard here and back with my annual look at the Cheltenham Festival and its going to be a cracker. The title of the post was not intended as a Champion Hurdle opener but any race fan must have been imprsessed with Hurricane Fly’s performance last week and i thyink this could end up being the smallest field we have seen for many years.

As for the Gold Cup well what a mouthwatering contest this year. Sad that we have no Denman and what a horse that has been over the years but we do have King Kauto and the still highly talented but error prone Long Run. Its going to be one camp or the other for the majority of punters but I definately in the Long Run camp as if it had pinged the last in the King George would definately have got up and won. With the xtra 2 furlongs and uphill finish we are going to see two truw jumping greats and I still feel Long Run will go on and win at least another three of the Blue Riband before hanging up his shoes.

As for the World Hurdle……BORING…..YAWN……SLEEPY…….Oh and their is Big Bucks of course. Just a race to watch and savour. the only thing we can hope for is that Quevega runs in the race instead of taking the soft option of the mares hurdle but with Ruby Walsh being the regular partner it looks bloody unlikely.

Champion Chase really is anybodys guess after Sizing Europe beat Big Zeb in a training match but could their be a nay pretenders lurking in the wings.

I’ll be doing a full analysis of these races over the weekend so watch out for the next installment.

Cheers
