How would you like to win a 50 Quid funded betting account for FREE in the Cheltenham Festival Tips betting Competition.

I wanted to do something fun on the blog for Cheltenham and start a wave of tips for horses you fancy that are at least 33/1 for the Cheltenham Festival.

I want to try and get as many comments as possible and then do a review during Cheltenham Festival Week to see who is the top dog when picking the BIG PRICE winners.

I have already managed to snag a few tasty prices myself including 200 on Medermit for the Champion Hurdle, 260 for Get Me Out of Here in the Supreme, 290 for Get Me Out of Here for the Neptune and 160 for Wishful Thinking in the Neptune.

I do have a real fancy for the 4 miler and once I have a few comments from other people I will post this one up.

Just one thing, if you are going to join in the discussion on this one make sure you give some sort of reason for your selection………it could be a good form line, some decent previous festival form, one you saw was unlucky, one you think is well handicapped………… or as my mate Dave says.

I like that one in PINK.

Anyway you get the drift. Tell all your punting buddies to join in the discussion as well and lets see who can come up with the BIGGEST winner of this years Cheltenham Betting Competition at the festival.

Whoever the winner is………….gets this

I have joined up with William Hill who have kindly sponsored this competition and the winner will receive a free 25 pound Reverse Forecast on the Grand National or you you can use the free 50 quid on any other bet you want.

BET you’ve not seen that before.

HERE ARE THE SIMPLE RULES:

1. You must give any selections prior to the start of each days racing during the 2010 Cheltenham Festival 16th March – 19th March2010. ( You might fancy a big price to beat Dunguib in the Champion Hurdle)
2. You can choose a maximum of 5 selections over the four days.
3. Each selection must be made as a seperate comment on the blog to be included in the comp.
4. The horse must have a winning Betfair SP of at least 34 to qualify as a potential winner. results will be based on Betfair SP and not standard industry SP.
5. If their is a tie then their will be a live random draw to choose the winner on the Saturday after Cheltenham.
6. If you are the lucky winner you will need to open your own Will Hill Account (no deposit required) and we will then transfer your 50 quid straight in to punt as you like
7. Lastly…….Have Fun!!!

Remember only selections made as a comment on this blog post will count and please leave your name and email address otherwise I cannot contact you if you win.

All the best

Richard

Hi Trevor, I presume you would like this as one of your entries in the tipping contest.

I thought Dan Breen was mighty impressive last time out and took 40/1 in some big priced accas.

Good luck and dont forget you have 5 entries in total in the tipping comp so make sure you post another 4 before the first race of the meeting

    Good luck

  6. Mark says:

All the following horses are selected on the grounds of trending in the races combined with breeding studies. None of them are my first choices but all have the potential to cause an upset.

    Day 1

    1.30 General Miller

    2.5 Mad Max

    2.40 Joe Lively

I will submit a couple more tomorrow

    Cheers!
    Mark

  7. The Longshot King says:

    Hi Mark,

These look pretty solid choices. i do think Gen Miller will run well in a really strong two mile race and has some decent track form.

Mad Max could still be anything and i would not be too dissapointed with his first run back this season.

With Joe Lively i just cant work out when he is going to put his best foot forward and horses rated 150+ have a poor record.

Thanks so much for entering the competition and i look forward to your other two entries.

    Good luck

    Richard

  8. Liam says:

Fiulin in the 1:30. Flat bred who needs the good ground, travelled well on only previous hurdle start.

  9. The Longshot King says:

  13. Liam says:

    Today’s outsiders/no hopers.

Pennek in the opener. He needs 4miles just to get warmed up.

Silk Hall, Coral Cup. Should improve with the fast ground.

  14. GK-1 says:

    AndyTown 4.00 Ho Crick 2.40

  15. The Longshot King says:

    Hi GK,

Good luck with those in the competition

    Richard

P.S. Can Andytown double up from last year???

  16. The Longshot King says:

    Hey Liam,

I agree Pennek is crying out for the trip.

    Good luck mate

    E-W YANKEE – Nicanor ,

  18. GK-1 says:

TREBLE – Rivalist, BigBucks ,AlfieSherrin, EW YANHEE – China Rock, Schindlers Hunt, In Compliance, Shillingstone

  19. GK-1 says:

sorry about first message, i hit submit before i was finished

  20. Liam says:

    Last two selections.

2:40 Jack The Giant, after the problems he’s had I don’t think Henderson would be running him if he wasn’t somewhere near his best. 3 wins out of 3 on seasonal reappearances so goes well fresh and likes the ground.

3:20 Cape Tribulation, been running over too short a trip, he had a good run behind Zaynar.

  21. The Longshot King says:

    Hi Liam,

Thanks for those mate. Yes i was wondering why Henderson has Entered Jack………..Interesting. He must think it has a chance.

    Cheers

    Richard a.k.a. The Longshot King

  22. The Longshot King says:

    Hi GK,

Good luck with those. I do like Schindlers Hunt

    All the best

  23. GK-1 says:

Does Anyone Think There Could Be An Upset In The Gold-Cup ??

  24. The Longshot King says:

    Hi GK-1,

I’m not sure about cheated but he was certainly unlucky not to get at least 3rd as he was totally unsighted after the other two horses came across him.

Such a shame as he’d run a great race. It was a nasty fall and just glad to see the horse get up OK
